Friday, October 31, 2008: This was an interesting day. I remember it vividly. This was Samantha’s 3rd Halloween. However it was her first where she was not only dressed up, but wanted to go ‘Trick or Treating’. For being 2 1/2 Samantha was pretty smart. She noticed the other kids with their parents, in their costumes, going out in the neighborhood as kids do every Halloween. Adriana Coronel Tenorio (AKA Adriana Howitt Coronel, Ari Coronel, Ari Coronel Tenorio, Ari Howitt, Ari Howitt Coronel) did not want Samantha to go outside and join the festivities. Not understanding why, Samantha started to cry. I remember asking Adriana why she objected to Samantha joining the fun. As long as there was one of us there what was the problem? Her answer stunned me. She said she did not feel like taking Samantha ‘trick or treating‘. I told her and Samantha, “no problem”. Dad would go. Samantha was ecstatic as you can imagine. So off we went.
It did not take long for Adriana to join us. She made mention of how bad it would look to the neighbors if I was the only one with Samantha for Halloween. Interesting comment right? My thought was that Samantha was having a great time. I don’t think anyone noticed or cared who was with her. That’s a textbook Adriana for you. Only caring about herself.

But try it anyway if you like. In the post, Adriana talks about a stray dog she found. It was malnourished and injured from what looked like a fight with another animal. This dog had a spirit about him that made me melt. I felt bad for the little guy.

AHORA ESTA EN MI CASA, ES EL NUEVO MIEMBRO OFICIAL DE LA FAMILIA.
