Saturday, December 25, 2010: MERRY CHRISTMAS SAM! Santa made it after all Beautiful. Finally, I was able to spend a Christmas with you. This was the first Christmas I was able to spend with you since 2007. I was so caught up in the moment, it made the time seem like it was only 5-minutes. It was a very emotional drive home to say the least.
Sam, I live to see you all lit up, so happy. I am sitting on my couch as I write this wondering why can I not be there with you now. This feels so surreal still. I made sure Santa was generous to you, Axel Alvarez Coronel (AKA Axel Coronel), and Mara Coronel (AKA Mara Mireles Coronel, Mariana Coronel, Mariana Mireles Coronel), Omar Mireles Martinez and your cousins. It was the right thing to do. For a little while I was able to forget how we got here. Of course as 4:00 rolled around, as we were cuddled up in front of the TV watching the Dora Christmas DVD, Adriana Coronel Tenorio (AKA Adriana Howitt Coronel, Ari Coronel, Ari Coronel Tenorio, Ari Howitt, Ari Howitt Coronel) was pushing me out the door. Never mind it was Christmas and Dads should be with their kids. Never mind this was our first Christmas together in 3-years. Never mind Adriana just got done telling me how much you need me just a few minutes before that.
On the flip side I know we will have a lifetime of Christmas holidays Sam. Adriana may be giving me a big Christmas gift by dropping the criminal case on January 4th. That would create a lot of good will and show she may be finally willing to put this behind us and do the right thing for you. In the meantime, I am going to relish spending Christmas with you. Focusing on the positive in that and not the negative. I LOVE YOU SAM! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
