Sunday, January 30, 2011: Hi Sam! Today was a well-deserved break from the daily grind I have been subjected to since your abduction. I had my first Disney experience in 28-years today. My first was back in 1982 when I was 12-years old. It was a family vacation to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I made a promise to you I would not go to Disneyland without you, and I am keeping my promise. Disneyland in Anaheim, California is the first of the Disney parks. Disney World in Florida is the second.
Next door to Disneyland is another Disney park called California Adventure. I spent the day at California Adventure today and not Disneyland. Being there meant a lot because it kept me connected to you. California Adventure is pretty cool, I cannot want to go there with you. It is not even ½ the size of Disneyland but fun none the less. I could not help but think about how much you would have loved this experience. It was a rainy morning. The park was empty as California natives hate the rain. I know you love it so playing in the rain put a big smile on my face because I was reminded of you the entire time.
There are so many people you have never met yet that really love you Sam! They see your pictures and videos of you and just melt, much like I do as your Dad. I know it’s hard for you to understand what is going on right now. Someday it will all come together. I wish I knew when. Until that day comes, I am working relentlessly to do everything I can. This is what a Dad does for his Little Princess. I LOVE YOU SAM! KISSES!
