Sunday, May 1, 2011: Hi Beautiful! What an amazing day we had yesterday. I knew we could make the best of the situation. You are so adorable Sam. I am so lucky to have you for a daughter. You had no idea I was bringing birthday gifts for you yesterday. Why would you, your birthday is not until May 3rd. Understandable. Seeing your face light up at the surprise was absolutely priceless to me. The best was when you opened the birthday card and instantly noticed Littleman in the picture. He misses you too Sam, and wishes you a Happy Birthday.
We spent most of the day opening gifts, eating cake and playing in the swimming pool. Then it was fish tacos and unfortunately back to San Diego for me. But not before you protested again to Adriana Coronel Tenorio (AKA Adriana Howitt Coronel, Ari Coronel, Ari Coronel Tenorio, Ari Howitt, Ari Howitt Coronel), mentioning that you wanted to go fishing and catch your own fish. I love that you continue to protest. Adriana sees it yet denies you. I read her rebuttal to our demand in court to allow you more time with me, without her interfering. She says the complete opposite of what is really happening. She says that you do not protest at all, that you are indifferent to me leaving. We were all laughing at this in Alicia and Carlos’ office. This is truly ridiculous.
Oddly enough, we have 2 court dates coming up. May 9th is a hearing on Adriana’s demand where she is actually trying to take you away from me. We can’t wait for this. The next date is May 31st for our demand to spend more time with you. We feel there is a good chance the situation from August will be over by May 31st, which will be a big blow for Adriana.
After Adriana saw what a great time we were having, she started to change her tune with me regarding your birthday. She re-invites me to this party for you at the orphanage, which I was opposed to from the first time I heard of it. I politely declined, citing that Sunday would have been 3-days in a row coming to Mexico and that your birthday is Tuesday – not Sunday.
Then I realized she is not ready for the party and needs help preparing. “Good luck with that”, I told her. So, this morning Adriana calls to tell me thank you and that you love your gifts…that you had a great time with me. That was nice to hear. Then she tells me she would like to surprise you by having me come over for your actual birthday! SIGN ME UP! I’M IN! She requests that I bring candy and toys for the piñata. No biggie since I already made the investment in your party already. I am excited to see the look on your face when you see me on Tuesday! I LOVE YOU SAM!
