Wednesday, March 14, 2012: I LOVE YOU SWEETHEART! I hope you do not get tired of hearing that. Dad is so proud of you. Today I surprised you with your first bike! That was the big surprise. As we were walking through the store, I had you hold my hand while walking with your eyes closed. I could not wait for this moment with you having missed so many milestones these last 3 ½ years. I was treasuring every second of this.
As we made our way to the bike section of the store, I picked you up to give you a better view of the pink bike that resembles Monster High. The look on your face said it all. I absolutely melt when I see you that happy Sam. Obviously I would have preferred we have had this moment under better circumstances. I have learned from this process that I have to cherish every moment with you because they have come few and far between.
You were so eager to ride the bike, you were willing to ride the bike from the store back to your house. That’s a good 5-miles away. Instead we drove it to your home where you helped me with putting the training wheels on and made a small adjustment to the seat and off you went. I can’t believe how fast you are growing up Sam! You are turning 6-years old in a few weeks!
