Sunday, July 8, 2012: Hi Sam! It was amazing to see you yesterday. Interesting day to say the least. We headed down to Ensenada to the “Red House”, also known as the Hotel Coral. It’s a great hotel right on the water. That was the first time we have been there when the outside pools were open. The sun was shining. It was a beautiful day all things considered. We talked about going down there last week. Adriana Coronel Tenorio (AKA Adriana Howitt Coronel, Ari Coronel, Ari Coronel Tenorio, Ari Howitt, Ari Howitt Coronel) tells me you were very excited about it all week. The whole drive down you could not stop talking about it. It was so adorable to hear.
Our day pool side was awesome! You have picked up swimming really well, cruising around like a beautiful mermaid. I wish my shoulder was healthy enough to allow you to jump into my arms. I don’t know if you noticed, but when you ask me to pick you up and hold you in my arms I have to do it with the opposite arm I have been used to all those years. How many Dad’s do you know that can still carry their 6-year old child in their arms, let alone just one arm? It’s an honor for me Sam. I hope I can do that until my time here on Earth is done.
As with every Saturday the time just goes by so fast. I am so sorry I have to leave you like that. It tears me up inside and has since day 1. It’s not something I have ever gotten used to. You have become vocal about it more and more in front of Adriana too. I absolutely love that. I tell you how sorry I am and mention that Adriana holds all the cards to how this can end happily ever after. And while she says she is sorry to the both of us, it’s all empty words to me because she sees the sadness on both of our faces and yet done nothing but find new ways to create such unnecessary chaos to try and keep us apart. For years she has seen the sadness and has chosen to do nothing about it. I have always said that someday Adriana is going to have to answer to you for what she is done. The longer she drags this out the worse it’s going to be for her in the end. That right there is the problem with Adriana, she never thinks about the long term. That’s not me saying this Sam, Adriana’s sordid history always repeats itself and until she is forced to act like a responsible parent, she never will on her own. Is Adriana capable of it? Sure she is. She simply doesn’t want to.
I LOVE YOU SAM! More than any words can say. You are my flesh and blood. This is such a horrible situation in so many ways yet that father-daughter bond will never die. Never. I miss you already. Kisses.
