Saturday, December 4, 2010: Good Morning Beautiful! I am smiling from ear to ear right now. Adriana Coronel Tenorio (AKA Adriana Howitt Coronel, Ari Coronel, Ari Coronel Tenorio, Ari Howitt, Ari Howitt Coronel) was dealt another blow by the judge this past week. She has been trying to tell the judge that she does not want you to spend time with me because of the situation she created in August with the ambush and having me thrown into prison for no reason. It would appear the humiliations she felt in that court was not enough for her to stop lying. Be that as it may, we have been trying to find a safe place for us to spend time together. The judge denied Adriana’s request, mentioning the Supreme Court’s decision recognizing my rights and underlined how Adriana needs to get her act together.
This morning, Carlos drove to court and with the court official, Francisco, made their way to Adriana’s house so Francisco could officially read and present the judgment to her. As we drove in front of the house, there was Adriana standing outside in her pajamas, clearly not expecting us. Wouldn’t you know it, Isaias Palomeque’s (AKA Isaias Uzziel Palomeque, Isaias Palomeque Vergara, Project Manager at DJO Global) truck was right in the driveway. As it were, Francisco kept asking who was peeking around the curtains in the window upstairs. To which Carlos & Alicia replied, “That’s the boyfriend, don’t worry he’s a nobody.”
Obviously I was anxious for two obvious reasons. I MISS YOU so much I could not wait to see you. On the other hand Adriana is not the same woman I knew a couple years ago. Amazingly enough she agreed with the judgment, for now. We’ll see what happens on Thursday when we go to court. It was interesting to see all of them on their best behavior. Palomeque was so afraid of us, he did not even come down from upstairs.
That father/daughter bond will never be broken Sam. No matter what Adriana tries. I am glad Francisco, Carlos and Alicia were there to describe how chaotic your current living conditions are. Adriana turned the back yard into a farm, literally. There are ducks, chickens, roosters, dogs and cats back there. Adriana tells me she cannot pay her electric bill, but they have enough money to feed all these animals. Crazy. Francisco, Carlos and Alicia could only stay for an hour and when it was time for them to go, we came up with the idea to have Sam meet me at Peter Piper Pizza down the street. I was waiting a few minutes at the Peter Piper Pizza when Maria Guadalupe Tenorio Toledano (AKA Lupita Tenorio, Marsha Tenorio) drove up to give me a note Adriana wrote me. They were planning a kid’s get together with Sam’s friends and they needed to get you ready so she asked if I could come back to the house for awhile. So I did. And of course Palomeque high-tailed it out of there while we were down the street. I had a wonderful time with you Sam. Long time coming.
At one point, I did have an opportunity to talk to Adriana for a little bit. We did not discuss the events of August 7th other than for Adriana to suggest she has no idea why I have not visited you since that day. Yes, she really said that. I acted like I did not even hear what she said and proceeded to ask her what she really wants from all this. As usual, Adriana could not tell me what she really wants out of all this. Not surprising because her actions speak for themselves.
We did agree that there are no winners here. Just losers of missed opportunities with you being at the disadvantage here the most. With Palomeque having just left minutes before, Adriana then tells me she “still loves me”.
Then Adriana added how she does not like Tijuana and wants to move back to Puerto Vallarta. That sent shivers up my spine because I am afraid one day she will decide to move again. And like November 10, 2008 she will be gone.
Adriana asked me what I want out of all this. I told her that you have the right to enjoy both parents and both families. That we cannot give you the last 2-years back but we can give her the best life possible going forward. That we owe you that. She agreed. I told her I cannot commit to anything unless we both can come to an agreement because the money and time I am spending on these cases could easily have gone to both of you.
Adriana followed with, “what do you want if we were not in court?” I told her I would take care of all of your things. Everything. And continue to send same support to her to use just in case she needs it. Other than that we need to figure out a shared arrangement of your time in Mexico and the United States. Since most of the holidays are different between the two countries, that should be easy. I ended by telling her nothing needed to be decided today. This is just a starting point at the same time my position has not changed in 2-years but her input is obviously important. I don’t know if she will get back to us before Thursday or not. Adriana’s definitely trying to butter me up so she does not take another beating in court.
We have seen first hand Adriana’s words rarely match her actions. Yes everyone was on their best behavior for the court today. That will not last. I am sure Palomeque would appreciate not being held up in her bedroom like he was on today. A permanent custody order would allow everyone to move on with their lives. I think Adriana would be surprised at how easy her life will be when all this is done.
