3-years, 8-months, 12-days into Samantha’s abduction

Sunday, July 22, 2012: It’s your Dad’s birthday today Sam. I took a quick getaway for the day over in Catalina Island. I am relaxing on the beach for a while, missing you badly. Other Dads are here with their kids. I have never gotten used to this. There are only 2 ways to get over here, by boat or helicopter/small airplane. About 100-years ago or so, when the Chicago Cubs were last relevant, they actually played had their Spring Training camps at Catalina to get ready for their baseball seasons. The people who owned the team had built a big old house on top of a hill here looking back at Los Angeles with the team facility just up the road a bit. The house is now a hotel, but interesting history none the less.

While I was on the boat heading over to Catalina, Adriana Coronel Tenorio (AKA Adriana Howitt Coronel, Ari Coronel, Ari Coronel Tenorio, Ari Howitt, Ari Howitt Coronel) sent me a text message wishing me a happy birthday. And of course asking me to find a way to send her money from Catalina so “your girl can do something fun on my birthday too”. No joke Sam. Adriana actually said this.

How about letting OUR GIRL spend the weekend with HER read Dad on his birthday? What a concept! I LOVE YOU SAM!
