Saturday, July 7, 2013: Hi Sam. What a morning. I am standing in line and I feel like a 900-pound gorilla was just lifted off my back. I know this is hard on you. Until you started reading this, you had no idea how hard it’s been on this end too. I am running on pure adrenaline right now. Adrenaline and coffee of course. If I am lucky I got 2-hours of sleep last night and I have not eaten anything all day.

So the morning started at Alicia’s office at 9:00. She shared with me the rest of what happened with this latest decision from the, now retired, judge. Then it was off to meet the court clerk. Today was important for many reasons and Maria Guadalupe Tenorio Toledano (AKA Lupita Tenorio, Marsha Tenorio) did not disappoint. At first we did not know if anyone was home or not. We figured since Adriana Coronel Tenorio (AKA Adriana Howitt Coronel, Ari Coronel, Ari Coronel Tenorio, Ari Howitt, Ari Howitt Coronel) put absolutely zero effort into defending that last petition, we figured that meant she was going on the run again and we were all driving to an empty house in a few minutes. Another words why would Adriana care if she knew she was going to flee the scene. She has been down this road 5 other times in the last 4-years.

So, we get to the house and find out Adriana was not home. You, Axel Alvarez Coronel (AKA Axel Coronel) and Maria Guadalupe were. Although it took Maria Guadalupe 15-minutes to answer the door after she was tired of peeking through the living room curtains every 30-seconds or so. The element of surprise definitely was on our side today. Nobody knew we were coming. Believe me, Maria Guadalupe was a sight to behold too. Have you ever seen the movie “Edward Scissorhands”? I know it’s before your time. Google it. You will get the idea of what I am talking about.

The court clerk that joined us knows Adriana and Maria Guadalupe very well. He has been involved with this case before. The clerk proceeds to tell Maria Guadalupe why we are there and she is completely surprised. She was very nervous and shaking like a leaf. She could not stop shaking and everyone saw it. That was incredible. She was caught off guard and clearly did not have her usual lines of bullshit ready for the occasion. Eventually she goes into her act. I have my eyes locked onto her the whole time, standing less than 3-feet (1m) away from her. Not one time did she ever make eye contact with me. Axel, same thing, zero eye contact. I get the fact no kid wants to hear what raging lunatics their relatives are. Deep down he knows because he could not make eye contact with me either.

While they go into the “pinche gringo” speech, we get a look around and the front of the house is a disaster. There is goat poop all over the front walk way. Garbage everywhere. When the court clerk told them the request from the judge to have a look around to see the conditions inside the house and in the back yard, Maria Guadalupe denied him access to the house. Her excuse? They are in the process of moving!!! Holy cow Sam, do I know these people better than they know themselves or what???

So knowing their history of going on the run, the court clerk inquires as to where they are moving and Maria Guadalupe mentioned ‘Real Del Mar’, which is a semi-gated community and more expensive than where you are now. We all start laughing, literally. Even the court clerk started to laugh. The clerk called her bluff, asking her how it is they are moving to a higher rent area with no money? He literally asked Maria Guadalupe that. He was not having any of their garbage today.

It goes on and on Sam. Maria Guadalupe goes on to say that she feels like the law is not helping protect them from me. This was very telling as you will see in a minute. The clerk told her that if they really felt they were not getting a fair shake, they should have started their own motions in court and not go on the run for now the 6th time in 4-years. They have never said a word. Not one word. They have always reacted and responded to what we did because they know what the real truth is. They are hoping to cause me enough trouble where I just give up. That is what Axel’s father did. I AM NOT THAT GUY. You think they would have figured that out by now. Then again, if they had the ability to think, they would realize they are hurting themselves.

After a while I jumped in and asked Maria Guadalupe if she ever tells the truth about anything. Again, Maria Guadalupe made zero eye contact with me. The court clerk and Alicia repeated the question in Spanish just in case and of course Maria Guadalupe just looked away. I turned and asked the court clerk and Alicia what the equivalent of an Academy Award is in Mexico. That got a laugh from everyone, even from Axel. Axel clearly did not understand the joke was directed at him too. So I let him in on the joke too.

Not skipping a beat Maria Guadalupe proceeds to tell us that Sam does not love me. That Sam does not want to see me. That Sam does not even call me Dad, she calls me by my name.

Our visits always tell another story Sam. Nobody is too worried about what these people have to say.

So, you come out on the patio overlooking the front gate, trying not to make eye contact. I know you are upset Sam. You should be upset. You have never been told the truth about anything in that house. I brought you a little something to help ease the tension. And when I asked you to come down for 2-minutes you shook your finger at me to say no. OK, so I asked for 1-minute. You looked at me, stomped your foot and let out a big old trademark Samy smile! Everyone saw it Sam. It was precious. Eventually you came downstairs. When you made your way to the front of the gate, Maria Guadalupe would not get out of the way. I tried to give you a hug and a kiss and Maria Guadalupe kept blocking you from coming outside. Right in front of Alicia and the court clerk too. It was nuts. We did not force the issue beyond that. It was important for the court to see you and to see what the conditions are like at the house. It was important for the court to get his dose of the crazies for themselves so he could report this all back to the new judge. The clerk told us he was surprised to hear how long we have been dealing with this Sam. He said it outright that it’s not good for you to have our visits in that house. Plain and simple. Oddly enough, Maria Guadalupe agreed. The first and only time she actually told the truth. Which may explain why they never filed a challenge to the motion to change the way our visits go. That and they did not want to risk perjuring themselves again under oath as to what really happened May 11th.

Of course when the court clerk asked Maria Guadalupe for the new address and phone number where they were moving to, she lied right to the guys face and told him she did not know because she was leaving Tijuana and did not care. The court clerk reminded Maria Guadalupe that because of all the other times they disappeared, they were court ordered to report their new address and phone to the court within the next 3 days or risk going to jail. We will see if they actually comply Sam. Nobody is holding their breath. I will be back on Wednesday to talk with Lourdes about next steps. We might actually get the venue of our visits changed by August after this. Stay strong Sam. I LOVE YOU!!!
