Saturday, August 7, 2010. That was 1-year, 8-months, 28-days into Samantha’s abduction. This was the day Adriana Coronel Tenorio (AKA Adriana Howitt Coronel, Ari Coronel, Ari Coronel Tenorio, Ari Howitt, Ari Howitt Coronel), Maria Guadalupe Tenorio Toledano (AKA Lupita Tenorio, Marsha Tenorio) and their friend had me ambushed by the Tijuana Police Department and thrown into the infamous La Mesa Prison for absolutely no reason. The US State Department kept warning me that Adriana was more than likely going to do something drastic after the humiliating judgement against her at the hands of the Mexican Supreme Court. And on this day Samantha witnessed the absolute worst Adriana, Maria Guadalupe had to offer by having me ambushed like this. Samantha stood there and watched it all unfold.
To this day I can still smell the inside of that place. I remember wondering if I be going back to California in a body bag? Would anyone even know if these cops drove me out to the desert and put a bullet in my head? It all happened so fast. I remember telling myself over and over, ‘STAY STRONG FOR SAMANTHA’! As long as I am still breathing, I am still fighting for my Princess. That includes keeping my wits about me in a situation I was not entirely sure I was going to actually survive. In order to get a grasp as to what was going on as it actually happened, I had to stay calm.
