Saturday, February 4, 2012: Hi Sam! Dad had a surprise for you today, new fishes for your aquarium. The small goldfish you already had somehow got stuck in the filter and died. Goldfish are not a very smart species of fish, just so you know. So, I bought some bigger fish. Ones that will not be tempted get up close to see what that filter does. It turns out one of the fish is female and pregnant. After the shock wore off sitting in that little bag of water, going from the store to the house, this fish burrowed her way at the base of some plants and laid her eggs. That was pretty cool.
Suffice it to say, I never know what to plan for Sam. We are not allowed to leave and do normal father/daughter things. Except on occasion when Adriana Coronel Tenorio (AKA Adriana Howitt Coronel, Ari Coronel, Ari Coronel Tenorio, Ari Howitt, Ari Howitt Coronel) is buttering me up for another “sales pitch”. Regardless, I absolutely live to see that big smile on your face. Faith is a powerful force. And having faith that this is a temporary situation in the overall scheme of life and that we have decades to share. Stating the obvious about what I have already missed doesn’t do anything but help to keep my edge when it comes to Adriana.
The day ended on the beach. Watching an amazing sunset hoping the sunset came before the high tide completely engulfed the beach. I am actually smiling as I write this because I can still see you dodging the waves as they crashed ashore, laughing and giggling. And on occasion when Mother Nature threw a curve ball at you with the rogue wave, that happy scream always cracks me up. Mother Nature got us good one time where you tried to out run the wave. Instead you jumped right into my arms while I got soaked saving you from a salt water bath. It was a perfect time to teach you how to skip rocks across a body of water. It did not take long because you caught on quickly and became a natural. I LOVE YOU SAM! KISSES!
