Friday, June 24, 2011: Hi Sam. I apologize up front because I have let 24-hours pass before I am writing this. I needed the time to wrap my head around the conversation I had with Alicia and Carlos. The good news first because it won’t take long to tell. Adriana Coronel Tenorio’s (AKA Adriana Howitt Coronel, Ari Coronel, Ari Coronel Tenorio, Ari Howitt, Ari Howitt Coronel) petition to take you away from me forever has been officially dismissed! We knew this already because we were there when the judge told us this was going to happen. Yes, I am excited about that! It exposes Adriana for who she really is even more. The civil court doesn’t believe a word she says. I am acting like I have no idea what is going on because I do not want to jeopardize our meeting Tuesday evening in her attorney’s, Oscar Ivan Diaz Gomez, office. That is if she does not blow it off. That’s the good news. I am not downplaying the court order at all because it is very significant. More importantly, I will always be there for you Sam!

So, what can possibly be so wrong after news like that? I was warned a long time ago that Mexican judges tend to have a reputation of talking out of both sides of their mouths, meaning they say one thing and do another. We have not really seen that too much aside from some of the unnecessary jumping through too many hoops. Unfortunately, we are seeing it in this criminal case. Just two weeks ago the judge in the criminal case told us she would have a resolution in two weeks time. I find out yesterday that the judge wants another court date on July 6th to meet with me, Adriana and the police she had ambush me.

Herein lies the problem. The prosecution rested their case as did we. It’s the prosecutors job to do this not the judge. We blew Adriana’s case out of the water. The judge himself was urging Adriana to drop the case on her own. That is is how bad it went for Adriana. There is no way this could go south for us now, could it?

Well, the judge threw the inevitable monkey wrench just as predicted. I can see it now, it will take three months to get the police back into court, another two months of the translator not showing up. Now we are looking October or November before this is resolved. UNBELIEVABLE! It feels like they are trying to figure out a way to convict me without any merit.

If there is an upside, this case is very well known with the US Border Patrol. They keep asking me how things are going. The look on my face said it all. He reminded me that at least I get to spend time with you while we sort this out. A lot of the cases he knows of, the fathers are not that lucky. Amen to that. KISSES SAM! DADDY LOVES YOU!
