Sunday, May 24, 2009: Good Morning Beautiful! I am sorry it took a little while to write. Believe me you are on my mind every second of every day. I keep a picture of you with me at all times. It is a picture of you when we had that beach house in Ensenada last July. You had chocolate cake smeared on your face had you had the most beautiful angelic smile as you looked at me. You always looked at me this way. My heart skips beats every time I see this picture. That is the hard part Sam. I miss you so much. 6 ½ months have passed since I last saw you. That is crazy! I have had a lot of time to think about what happened back on May 12th and the things that have happened since then. I can finally say that I am more relaxed than I have been since November 10. I think another factor is that I finally came to accept that this is a process. I have not been a very patient Dad, nor should I have been. I think I was doing myself more harm than good by not trying to embrace patience. I grieve because you are not here. Yet it motivates me to keep fighting. Remember, your Dad is a rhino! You are my Little Rhino! No matter what that will never change.
The business has seen some dark days during this economic recession. The signs of things turning around have paid off. I was back in Florida Sunday – Wednesday. That trip went very well. I am excited! One of my goals is for you to meet Mickey and Minney Mouse in Orlando and Los Angeles! Yes, Mickey and Minney Mouse are in both places. I was outside Orlando in a city called Tampa. I liken it to the San Diego of the east coast. It’s a beautiful city. Great people too. We still have a lot of hard work to do to advance the momentum we have been working on the last several months.
The other day, I talked to Alicia. We are going to try and get together tomorrow. Alicia mentioned that the day for the DNA is almost here. I know it’s hard to figure out how this can take so long. The system there is understaffed. I have seen it with my own eyes on May 12. Those people do work hard but it does take time. At the end of the day, the real goal is to make sure this never happens to you again. We are getting there Sam. Dad loves you Sweetheart! I will see you soon! KISSES!
