Wendy Samantha Coronel Tenorio’s Abduction Day 287

Wendy Samantha Coronel Tenorio's Abduction Day 287

Thursday, August 20, 2009Hi Sam! Guess where I am. I am in Tijuana standing in line waiting to get back to San Diego. The line of people is about a mile long to get over the border. This is not unusual. I feel a little spoiled because the lines have been relatively short in the last few months. I have a good hour before I see San Diego so why not write my Little Princess! I am here because I met with Alicia today. I had to sign papers regarding the DNA test so we can get things going in court. To say everyone is concerned about Adriana Coronel Tenorio’s (AKA Adriana Howitt Coronel, Ari Coronel, Ari Coronel Tenorio, Ari Howitt, Ari Howitt Coronel) chosen profession is a big understatement. According to Alicia we will be back in court in the next 2-4 weeks. We’ll see. The judge likes us so we may seriously be looking at 3 weeks to start the process.

The one thing I miss about the border are the guys that rent the stolen bikes. On the Tijuana side there were guys who would rent people bikes for $7-10. If people had those bikes they would be able to cut in front of the line at the border. On the US side there was another guy waiting for those who rented the bikes so he could take them back over the border. Most of the time the bikes were too small for adults riding bikes. Most of them did not have seats on them anyway. Yep, those were stolen too. Regardless, it was a great deal on days when the line was as long or longer than today. A year ago the US did away with allowing people to do that. Probably because Uncle Sam could not find a way to tax it.

A couple years ago you’re Aunt Lori and I had to use the bikes to get back to San Diego because of a flight she had to catch. My bike did not have a seat on it. We were laughing all the way to the front of the line as I actually tried to ride the thing with no seat. I was laughing so hard, I almost fell off the bike. It was quite the show.

Now they have buses. People pay $5 to get on a bus to take you in front of the line. I just got on one of these buses. It’s a small gamble to save time. As I write this I am looking to see if the people that were standing in front of me a mile ago walked past the bus I am on. I have not seen them as of yet. Even if they do pass me, it’s hot outside and the bus I am sitting in is air conditioned. I figure I win this time either way.

There is one bus ahead of us in line. I have been here since 12:35 PM. I waited 20 minutes before boarding the bus. I am not sure this gamble will pay off but at least I am in an air conditioned bus. KISSES!
